Climate Change: What Do Scientists Say?
Climate change is an urgent topic of discussion among politicians, journalists and celebrities...but what do scientists say about climate change? Does the data validate those who say humans are causing the earth to catastrophically warm? Richard Lindzen, an MIT atmospheric physicist and one of the world's leading climatologists, summarizes the science behind climate change.
Confronting Climate Change in California (Archive)
This article was published by The Union of Concerned Scientists and The Ecological Society of America in November 1999. It gives us a snapshot of what California climate will look like in the future. It described how global climate change is increasingly interacting with the human pressures that continue to stress California's natural environments. It describes decreased snow-levels, less rain and increasing overall temperatures. What I find the most fascinating is that this article is over a decade old yet we still have not seen any indication of the stated predictions in California.
Global Cooling
This 1975 article from Newsweek states that the earth's climate seems to be cooling down. The meteorologists are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. (4/28/75) Newsweek
